Abstract

The quality of higher education relies on methodologies focused on teachings that promote students to become active agents in problem solving around their professional performance.  The proposed solutions should be based in creativity and innovation. The development of transversal skills: problem solving, creativity and innovation demands collaborative and interdisciplinary work from faculty professors of any academic program. To date, there are no evaluation rubrics that guide professors on a grading scale that includes these skills. Seizing this opportunity, the objective of this research was determined to be the design of evaluation instruments, according to educational levels of higher education students. The research was document based and reviewed methodologies on scientific search engines, such as Redalyc and Scielo, due to them being publications of proven scientific rigour. Furthermore, the development, from simple to complex, of cognitive, psico-motor and emotional skills related to the referred skills was taken as reference. Four evaluation instruments, rubric type, were developed corresponding to the four educational levels of a higher education career. The designed rubrics stand for the advancement of knowledge about skill-based evaluation and support for the teaching practice.
